School Age Educator – Before & After School Program
We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring School Age Educator to join our Before & After School Program at Rideau Vista Public School in Westport, Ontario. This is a 7-month maternity leave contract, with the possibility of continued employment depending on program needs.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children in a relaxed, play-based environment and who is passionate about creating meaningful experiences before and after the school day. Our program values connection, curiosity and community, with opportunities for children to be active, creative and explore their interests.
The successful candidate will work alongside another educator to create a welcoming, engaging environment where children can play, explore, build friendships and develop independence. The role includes supervising children, planning and facilitating age-appropriate activities, supporting children’s interests and maintaining a safe, inclusive environment, while following the requirements of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and Ontario Regulation 137/15.
Hours:
Monday–Friday, 6:30–9:30 a.m. and 3:30–6:00 p.m. during the regular school year. Full-day shifts, 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., on PA Days and during the summer.
Start date: September 2, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.
Qualifications:
- RECE or ECE preferred
- Experience working with school-age children
- Current Standard First Aid/CPR-C
- Vulnerable Sector Check
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- A genuine interest in working with children

Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
