APEX Heart Centre is looking for a highly organized, detail-oriented, and patient-focused individual to join our growing cardiology team as a Medical Receptionist. Expected start date Monday August 31, 2026. Our clinic provides comprehensive outpatient cardiac consultation and diagnostic testing within a collaborative, professional and compassionate environment dedicated to delivering exceptional cardiovascular care to the Kingston community.
This position is ideal for an experienced medical office professional who thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting, demonstrates strong initiative, and possesses excellent communication and organizational skills.
Job Description
- Welcome and assist patients in a professional and compassionate manner
- Coordinate daily clinic flow and physician schedules
- Book, confirm, and manage patient appointments efficiently within the EMR system
- Monitor clinic schedules proactively to optimize appointment utilization, fill cancellations, and reschedule missed appointments
- Respond professionally to patient inquiries by telephone, email and in person
Qualifications
- Completion of a college diploma or certification in Medical Administration
- Strong understanding of medical terminology
- Experience with EMR pertaining to efficient charting, scheduling and record management
- Ability to manage high-volume physician schedule, referrals, recalls and organizing physician schedule
- Proven ability to communicate professionally with patients, physicians and colleagues
- Professionalism and healthcare workplace adaptability
