Controller – York Region
Position Description
Controller – Leading Portfolio Company of Marketing Groups in North America – located in the York Region of the GTA.
FULL-TIME, in office, NO hybrid.
My client is seeking an experienced CPA to join their leadership team as a Controller. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, you will lead the Accounting Department while overseeing financial reporting, treasury, budgeting, payroll, HR administration and financial and tax compliance (approximately 6 direct reports). This is an opportunity to influence strategic decision-making and help modernize the organization's financial operations.
Qualifications
CPA designation (required).
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
Minimum 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including several years in a leadership role.
Comprehensive knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, cash management, Human Resources, payroll, and financial reporting.
Experience supervising accounting teams and developing staff.
Strong understanding of internal controls and financial governance.
Experience working in multi-company or complex corporate environments is considered an asset.

Microsoft Excel (advanced), Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Microsoft Business Central – a move from Sage 300 ERP is underway.
Corporate banking platforms and treasury management.
ADP Workforce Now or equivalent payroll systems and HR information systems.
Experience working with
Tax experience with GST/HST and corporate tax.
