Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Fish Market Cook / Prep Cook to join our team. This role involves preparing fresh seafood and other menu items in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, excellent food safety practices, and experience working in a restaurant or food service setting. We take food service and hospitality very seriously, we need people that show up like it matters, to offer the best guest/customer experience possible.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook fresh seafood and other menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Assist with food prep, including cleaning, filleting, and portioning fish and other ingredients
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with safety and sanitation regulations
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces
- Support the serving staff by preparing orders efficiently and accurately
- Follow food safety guidelines to prevent contamination and ensure quality standards are met
- Assist in inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying management of stock levels
Experience
We're looking for someone who:
Has strong knife skills and previous kitchen experience
Prepares seafood with consistency and attention to detail
Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
Takes pride in cleanliness and completing closing checklists
Is friendly, personable, and comfortable helping customers at the Fish Market counter when needed
Bonus if you have: - Seafood experience - A valid Ontario driver's licence with a clean driving record for occasional local deliveries
