The Piping Kettle Soup Co is dedicated to crafting the most delicious soups to satisfy any dietary preference. With over 100 soups rotating on a daily basis, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, low-fat, and meat options, we pride ourselves on using fresh, high-quality ingredients to create flavorful meals.
Our location in the Covent Garden Market operates 6 days per week from Tuesday to Sunday. We are mainly looking for someone to work between the hours of 11 am and 3 pm, with some afternoon hours also possible.
Job Overview
We are seeking energetic and customer-focused Food Service Team Members to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the friendly face of our restaurant, preparing and serving soups while ensuring an exceptional service for every guest. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help us deliver quality service in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare food items with attention to quality, safety, and sanitation standards
- Operate POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Serve customers efficiently while upselling menu items to enhance their experience
- Manage food safety and sanitation practices according to industry regulations
- Handle cash transactions accurately and balance cash register at shift end
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and kitchen equipment
- Assist in food preparation tasks as needed to support team operations
Qualifications
- Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred. Training will be provided
- Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude
- Basic math skills for cash handling and order accuracy
- Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards in the food industry
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy setting
- Willingness to learn food preparation techniques and customer service strategies
