Duties
- Provide direct patient care by assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices
- Monitor and observe patients’ conditions, including vital signs, and medication administration
- Support patients with dementia or Alzheimer’s by implementing specialized memory care techniques and ensuring a safe environment for those with cognitive impairments
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning and preparation to meet individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Support the overall well-being of residents through compassionate caregiving, engaging in meaningful activities, and fostering a positive environment
Skills
- Strong ability to observe patient conditions attentively and respond promptly to changes or emergencies
- Experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments
- Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
- Ability to operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and engaging patients effectively
