Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a contract Certified Red Cross First Aid Class Instructor to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will be passionate about teaching and have a strong background in first aid, emergency response, and CPR. This position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by equipping individuals with life-saving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and informative first aid training sessions to diverse groups of participants.
- Teach a range of first aid courses, including standard first aid, emergency first aid, CPR, AED, and specialized training as required.
- Ensure training materials and equipment are prepared and maintained in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrate proper techniques and procedures for assessing and responding to medical emergencies, administering First Aid treatment, and using emergency equipment.
- Facilitate interactive discussions, hands-on practice exercises, and scenario-based simulations to reinforce learning objectives and promote skill retention.
- Evaluate participant performance, provide constructive feedback, and administer assessments to verify competency and certification eligibility.
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, evaluations, and certifications issued.
- Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve training programs, curriculum materials, and instructional methods based on industry best practices and feedback from participants.
Qualifications:
- Must be a certified First Aid Instructor with Canadian Red Cross.
- Strong knowledge of first aid principles, emergency response protocols, and injury prevention techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information in a clear and understandable manner.
- Dynamic presentation skills and the ability to engage and motivate participants of diverse backgrounds and skill levels.
- Demonstrated experience in adult education, instructional design, or teaching/training roles preferred.
