Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Pipelayer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing and repairing underground Sanitary and Watermain lines, ensuring safety and precision in all tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation, mechanical systems, and safety protocols. The Pipelayer will work closely with project managers and other trades to complete projects efficiently and to high standards.
Duties
- Lay, assemble, and install underground Sanitary/Watermain PVC pipes using hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, and bucket trucks
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure proper installation
- Proper knowledge to work with various fittings
- Conduct inspections of installed piping for leaks or defects
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite while adhering to safety standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Pipelayer or in a similar heavy construction role
- Mechanical knowledge related to plumbing, piping systems, and heavy equipment operation
- Experience operating excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, and other heavy machinery
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, rigging, welding, and low voltage electrical work
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately
- Strong understanding of safety procedures in construction environments
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy materials as needed
- Prior experience with welding is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
