We are currently seeking a full-time Receptionist / Bookkeeper to join our team. This permanent position is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with clients and is looking to build a long-term career in a friendly, professional office.
Position Details
- Position: Receptionist / Bookkeeper
- Location: Torbay, NL
- Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
- Compensation: $25.00–$30.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Responsibilities
As a member of our team, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative and bookkeeping duties, including, but not limited to:
- Greeting clients and providing professional, friendly customer service
- Answering and directing telephone calls
- Scheduling appointments and managing office correspondence
- Maintaining client files and office records
- Performing bookkeeping functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and payroll
- Preparing and filing payroll source deduction remittances
- Preparing and filing GST/HST returns
- Assisting with the preparation and organization and reviewing of personal and corporate tax information with clients
- Providing administrative support to the accounting team
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess:
- Previous bookkeeping and administrative experience
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A professional and courteous manner when interacting with clients
- The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel
- Experience using Tax Cycle is considered an asset
- Knowledge of Sage Accounting is considered an asset
- Flexibility when working during tax season
- Your own transportation to/from work
Experience working in a public accounting firm and familiarity with payroll, GST/HST, and tax preparation processes would be considered strong assets.
