A leading public sector organization is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead and deliver multiple Cloud, Microsoft 365, and Artificial Intelligence initiatives.
This role involves end-to-end project ownership—from planning and analysis through execution and delivery—while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, governance frameworks, and enterprise architecture standards.
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple IT projects
- Develop project charters, business cases, and detailed project plans
- Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and resources
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to define objectives, requirements, and success criteria
- Oversee project governance, reporting, and stakeholder communications
- Identify dependencies, risks, and mitigation strategies
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture and compliance standards
- Coordinate across cross-functional teams including Cloud, AI, and M365 services
- Provide leadership in change management, communication, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Track progress and deliver regular updates to leadership and steering committees
- Drive continuous improvement and contribute to project management best practices
- Proven experience as a Senior IT Project Manager managing complex, multi-stream projects
- Strong background in Cloud platforms, Microsoft 365, or AI-related initiatives
- Experience working within IT infrastructure environments (hardware, software, applications)
- Solid understanding of project governance, risk management, and delivery frameworks
- Experience with Change Management and UAT processes
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and collaboratively
- Familiarity with enterprise IT environments and architecture
- Understanding of business processes, policies, and data requirements
- Experience in project planning tools and reporting frameworks
- Knowledge of public sector or large enterprise environments is an asset
- Must be able to work within Alberta (remote) due to data security requirements
- Availability for occasional onsite meetings with stakeholders and leadership teams
- Contractor must provide their own computer and work equipment compatible with remote access tools
- Background check required prior to onboarding
- Completion of mandatory training upon joining
