Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical QC Inspector (Journeyman Electrician) to support the inspection and testing of electrical panels and fabricated systems in our manufacturing facility.
This role is critical to ensuring all electrical assemblies are safe, compliant, and built to the highest standards. It is best suited for a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in QA/QC, exceptional attention to detail, and a deep respect for code compliance and clear documentation. Working closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality, you will ensure our products meet the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), CSA standards, client specifications, and internal quality metrics.
What Does an Electrical QC Inspector Do?
Our quality control professionals play a key role in keeping our production accurate, compliant, and moving forward. In this role, you will:
- Perform thorough electrical QA/QC inspections on panels, skids, and fabricated assemblies
- Inspect and verify wiring, terminations, component placement, grounding, and labeling
- Ensure strict compliance with approved drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), client specifications, and CSA/CEC requirements
- Identify, document, and manage non-conformances (NCRs) and workmanship issues
- Complete, organize, and maintain rigorous QA/QC documentation, including inspection checklists, test records, calibration certificates, and as-built records
- Capture and organize comprehensive QA photo documentation
- Monitor inspection and test equipment to ensure it remains calibrated and serviceable
- Support and mentor production teams by providing clear quality clarifications and guidance
- Follow all ISO-based Quality Management System (QMS) and HSE procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe QA/QC workspace
What You Bring
You’ll succeed in this role if you have:
- Journeyman Electrician Certificate (required)
- Strong, practical working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)
- Proven experience in electrical manufacturing, industrial control panels, switchgear, energy, or industrial construction (Electrical QA/QC inspection experience strongly preferred)
- High proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
- Strong digital literacy, including comfort with MS Office and digital inspection records
- High attention to detail and a commitment to meticulous documentation accuracy
- Exposure to ISO 9001 or structured QMS environments, and experience documenting NCRs (preferred)
- Mentoring or leadership experience in a production or quality role (preferred)
