About Us
Snake Lake Brewing Co. is a growing craft brewery based in Sylvan Lake, Alberta. We produce a wide range of beer, ready-to-drink products, and spirits, and we take pride in doing things properly, working hard, and building a team culture that is respectful, hands-on, and accountable.
We are currently looking for a Brewer’s Assistant to join our production team.
About the Role
This is a hands-on brewery position that supports the brewing, cellaring, packaging, cleaning, and general production operations at Snake Lake Brewing. The right person for this role enjoys physical work, takes pride in doing a job well, and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
This role is a good fit for someone who is reliable, steady, observant, and willing to jump in where needed. Brewery work can be repetitive, physical, and detail-oriented, so we are looking for someone who brings a positive attitude and understands the importance of consistency, cleanliness, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Assisting with brewing, cellaring, packaging, and production tasks
- Cleaning and sanitizing tanks, equipment, hoses, floors, and work areas
- Helping with canning, kegging, labelling, and packaging runs
- Moving product, raw materials, kegs, pallets, and packaging supplies
- Supporting brewers and production staff with day-to-day tasks
- Following brewery procedures, safety standards, and sanitation requirements
- Monitoring work areas and communicating issues or concerns to the team
- Helping keep the brewery organized, clean, and ready for production
- Working with the team to complete daily and weekly production goals
- Assisting in other areas of the brewery when needed

Previous brewery, production, warehouse, food/beverage, agriculture, or trades experience is an asset, but we are willing to train the right person.
Physical Requirements
This is a physical role. Applicants must be comfortable with:
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Lifting and moving heavy items, including kegs and bags of grain
- Working in a wet, noisy, and fast-paced production environment
- Bending, reaching, climbing, pulling, and pushing as required
- Working safely around brewery equipment, chemicals, and moving product
Qualifications
- Previous brewery or production experience is an asset
- Forklift experience is an asset
- Mechanical aptitude is an asset
- Food safety or sanitation experience is an asset
- Must be legally able to work in Canada
- Must be able to reliably commute to Sylvan Lake, AB
