WKG Electric is looking for experienced Journeyman Electricians and 3rd/4th Year Apprentices to join our growing New Residential Construction Division.
WKG Electric is a growing Edmonton-based contractor with three areas of operation:
- New Residential Construction
- Electrical Service
- Shallow Utilities
Our residential division works with some of Edmonton’s largest homebuilders, providing our team with a consistent pipeline of year-round work throughout Edmonton and surrounding communities.
We’re looking for skilled electricians who are efficient, reliable and take pride in quality workmanship. Our compensation structure is designed to reward productivity and give strong electricians the opportunity to earn more.

Compensation
WKG uses a production-based compensation system designed to reward electricians for completing quality work efficiently.
Rather than being limited to a traditional hourly wage, experienced and productive electricians have the opportunity to increase their earnings based on their performance.
Annual earning potential is approximately $80,000–$110,000+, depending on experience, productivity and workload.
Our high volume of residential construction provides a consistent pipeline of work throughout the year, while applicable non-production work is compensated hourly.

Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for electricians who:
- Have experience in new residential construction
- Can confidently complete rough-ins, pre-finals and finals
- Work efficiently without sacrificing quality
- Can read electrical plans and specifications
- Can work independently with minimal supervision
- Take pride in clean, organized installations
- Minimize deficiencies and callbacks
- Are reliable and take responsibility for their work
- Work well independently and as part of a crew
- Want to be rewarded for their productivity
Qualifications
Journeyman Electricians
- Alberta Journeyman Electrician certification
- New residential construction experience strongly preferred
3rd & 4th Year Apprentices
- Registered Alberta apprentice
- Strong residential construction experience preferred
- Ability to work independently is an asset
