At T&T Power Group, we've been designing, building, and servicing power generation systems since 1981. Today, we provide reliable standby and prime power solutions ranging from residential backup generators to multi-megawatt industrial power systems across Canada.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Field Service Technician to support our customers throughout the Saskatoon territory.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Field Service Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and commissioning a wide range of power generation equipment.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Perform monthly, semi-annual, annual, and five-year preventative maintenance in accordance with CSA 282 standards.
- Diagnose and repair diesel and natural gas generators, engines, and related mechanical and electrical systems.
- Perform load bank testing, inspections, and generator performance verification.
- Troubleshoot and service Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), generator controls, switchgear, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and cogeneration systems.
- Respond to scheduled maintenance visits and emergency service calls.
- Complete detailed electronic service reports, inspections, and documentation.
- Work independently while delivering exceptional customer service at client sites.
- Participate in an after-hours on-call rotation approximately every 4–6 weeks.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude who enjoys diagnosing problems and delivering high-quality service.
Required Qualifications
- Experience servicing power generation equipment, diesel engines, heavy equipment, or industrial electrical/mechanical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems.
- Ability to work independently in a field service environment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel throughout the Saskatoon territory, including occasional overnight travel.
- Comfortable using laptops, Microsoft Office, Teams, Outlook, and electronic service reporting systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work safely in industrial environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with any of the following is considered an asset:
- Standby generator systems
- Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
- Generator controls and switchgear
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Load bank testing
- CSA 282 preventative maintenance
- Diesel or natural gas engines
- EGSA certification
The following trades or certifications are considered strong assets:
- 442A Industrial Electrician
- 309A / 309J Electrician
- 310T Truck & Coach Technician
- 310S Automotive Service Technician
- 421A Heavy Equipment Technician
- Red Seal Millwright
- Power Engineer
- Other relevant electrical or mechanical trade certifications
