We are seeking a dependable, organized, and friendly Medical Office Assistant to support our front desk and daily clinic operations.
The ideal candidate would be someone comfortable working in a busy family medicine clinic, communicating professionally with patients, and managing multiple administrative responsibilities. Previous medical-office experience is required. The ability to communicate in Punjabi or Hindi is a strong asset.
Key Responsibilities
- Register and check in patients and verify demographic information
- Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and cancel appointments
- Answer calls, respond to patient inquiries, and relay accurate messages
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow applicable British Columbia privacy requirements
- Enter and update patient information into Juno EMR
- Scan and file laboratory results, referral letters, reports, and other documents
- Monitor outstanding referrals, test results, reports, and follow-up items
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain supplies
- Assist physicians with basic clinical tasks when requested, including taking height, weight, and other vital signs
- Prepare materials for procedures and properly label patient samples
- Process forms, faxes, mail, and general office correspondence
- Collect applicable patient payments and issue receipts
- Maintain weekly inventory of medical and office supplies
- Help keep the reception area, examination rooms, and shared workspaces clean and organized
- Perform other administrative duties required for smooth clinic operations
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a medical setting
- Strong communication and customer-service skills
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage telephone calls, patients, appointments, and administrative tasks simultaneously
- Comfortable using computers and EMR
- Ability to protect confidential patient information
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Available to work Monday through Thursday
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical Office Assistant certificate or diploma
- Experience with Juno EMR
- Experience working in a family medicine or primary-care clinic
- Ability to communicate in Punjabi
- Familiarity with referrals, laboratory reports, medical forms, and basic clinical procedures

Pay: From $18.25 per hour
