About Magic Chest
Magic Chest is a premier hobby store and community hub specializing in trading card games and collectibles, gacha capsule toys, and a dedicated Artist Alley featuring local creators. As an official Pokémon and Bandai TCG+ Play Store, we are the go-to destination for weekly tournaments including Pokémon, One Piece, Gundam and more.
We are looking for a creative, trend-savvy Retail & Social Media Associate to be the digital voice of our store and help support our retail team on the floor at the Tsawwassen Mills location. This is a hybrid position where you will spend about 70% of your time creating engaging social media content to grow our brand and 30% of your time supporting our full-time retail staff on the floor. If you love TCGs, know how to edit a viral reel and and enjoy chatting with fellow hobbyists, this is the perfect role for you!
What You’ll Do:
Content Creation & Social Media (70%)
- Film and edit engaging reels, and photo content showcasing our weekly tournaments, community events, and any in-store action.
- Create hype around new TCG pre-releases/new drops/restocks, spotlight creators in our Artist Alley, and showcase new gacha arrivals.
- Engage with our digital community, keep up with latest social media trends and implement strategies to boost brand awareness and increase foot traffic
Retail & Customer Experience (30%)
- Act as a supporting team member to our full-time retail associates during busy shifts or events
- Handle point-of-sale transactions, assist with inventory counts, restock shelves, and help maintain a clean and organized sales floor
- Greet customers, answer questions about our games and products, and provide a welcome in-store experience.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 1 year of retail or customer service experience
- Proven experience creating high-quality, engaging social media content
- Proficient with video editing apps and design tools like Canva
- Strong organizational skills for managing a content calendar and ensuring accurate retail inventory counts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Creative and proactive in keep up to date with latest social media trends
- Familiarity with trading card games and Japanese pop culture/anime is a massive plus!
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident required
