Job Description
A Heavy Equipment Operator's first responsibility is to perform duties in a safe and effective manner at all times, when operating equipment and while assisting with any other duties on the job site. The role will be based in a live 500KV Substation job site and requires experience operating in small and tight spaces.
This position is out of town, on a 14 days worked and 7 days off rotation. Work days are 10 hours per day.
Travel and accommodations are booked and provided by F&M Installations.
Responsibilities Include:
- Safe and productive operation of heavy equipment as follows:
- Excavator (50T -300T), be able to operate confidently in tight spaces
- Skid steer
- Loader
- Dump Truck
- Excavating, grading, hauling, compacting, placing or ripping, lifting of material as directed
- General maintenance such as fueling, greasing, shoveling tracks, cleaning of cab and windows
- Reading prints
- Understanding elevations
- Ability to set own inverts
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Heavy construction industry experience preferred
- Valid Driver’s License
- Candidates with experience in the utilities field with focus on high voltage work sites and civil construction are preferred
- Good understanding of construction principles and procedures
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Pay: The pay for this role starts at $27.78/hr and is based on experience, active certifications and relevant education.
