Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Hostess to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The ideal candidate will excel in guest services, possess excellent communication skills, and have experience in hospitality or food service environments. This role is essential in ensuring guests have a positive first impression and enjoy their dining experience from the moment they arrive. The Host/Hostess will manage reservations, greet guests, and coordinate seating arrangements efficiently to support smooth restaurant operations.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide attentive customer service
- Manage reservations and waitlists using POS systems such as Silverware POS or similar platforms
- Escort guests to their tables and ensure timely seating arrangements
- Answer phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and assist with reservation bookings
- Maintain a clean and organized host stand area
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers regarding guest needs and seating capacity
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, or special requests courteously and professionally
- Assist with general restaurant operations as needed to ensure an exceptional guest experience
Qualifications
- Previous experience in guest services, hospitality, or food service is preferred, especially restaurant or hotel experience
- Strong communication skills and excellent phone etiquette
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of POS systems such as Silverware POS is a plus
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining professionalism
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
