To apply you will require at least 5 years of Class A driving experience and the more the better.
In this role, you will be responsible for training new drivers in safe and efficient commercial driving practices, providing the very best foundation you can to build their careers from!
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive training sessions for new commercial drivers, focusing on safe driving techniques, vehicle operation, and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Assess trainees' driving skills through practical evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance their performance.
- Develop training materials and resources that align with industry standards and best practices.
- Monitor trainees' progress throughout the training program and maintain accurate records of their development.
- Collaborate with management to identify areas for improvement in training programs and implement necessary changes.
- Ensure all equipment used during training is maintained in good working condition, including trucks and forklifts.
- Provide guidance on automotive repair basics to help trainees understand vehicle maintenance requirements.
Experience
- Must have at least 5 years commercial truck driving experience (shunting in a yard does not count)
- Must have no more than three demerit points on your drivers abstract
- Must have no more than 4 negative occurrences on your CVOR
- You must be an exceptional communicator and know and understand how to use text messages and email from your phone to communicate
- You must be a people person, be relaxed and patient
- You must be willing to learn at all times and you must have a thirst for self improvement
- Previous experience in training or mentoring roles is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of heavy truck repair principles is beneficial for providing trainees with insights into vehicle maintenance.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to track trainee progress accurately.
