We are a growing construction company that specializes in full-home renovations, additions, and new builds, as well as multi-residential and ADUs. Our projects are located throughout Toronto and the surrounding GTA. We have a small-but-mighty team, offer dynamic projects and opportunities, and are looking for motivated individuals to grow with us!
Who We Are Looking For:
Dolmen is seeking a Site Supervisor with a minimum of 10 years prior work experience in residential construction (commercial experience is an asset), with 5+ years in a working Site Supervision role. The candidate will work directly with Dolmen Construction’s Project Management team and must demonstrate a solid understanding of overall project supervision, coordination, leadership, management, and communication.
This position will be responsible for ensuring that the project is completed to our high standards of quality, while working with the PM to achieve goals on timelines and budget. The Site Supervisor must be highly organized, reliable, self-motivated, punctual, and flexible when it comes to approaching the daily requirements for each project site. Site H&S must also be prioritized.
Responsibilities:
- Provide working site supervision for all onsite construction activity across multiple sites, taking a hands-on approach to leadership and management of each project
- Submit reports via Buildertrend project management software, including:
- Daily Logs summarizing daily progress, subtrade performance, material use and requirements, etc.
- Site photos with detailed descriptions
- Providing Client updates regarding progress on site, deliveries, etc.
- Meet trades onsite to manage and oversee quality of work and maintain project schedule
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and construction schedule
- Work with Project Manager on multiple items, including:
- Schedule & coordinate building inspections with local authorities
- Coordinate trade scheduling and material deliveries to site
- Schedule site visits and manage day-to-day communications with Clients
- Collaborate throughout project to ensure construction schedule is accurate and targets/timelines are being met
- Coordinate with office staff to arrange material deliveries/request Purchase Orders, provide information regarding potential Change Orders and changes to schedule, communicate job status as it relates to progress draws and subtrade billing
- Learn and adhere to Dolmen workflow procedures, while providing suggestions for improved productivity, efficiency, systems, and company standards
- Foster strong and trustworthy business relationships with Clients, subtrades, and suppliers
- Positively represent Dolmen when interacting with all Clients, subtrades, suppliers, and team members.
- Note: This position requires that the Site Supervisor is actively working (i.e., skilled labour) on site when needed to keep project momentum.
Key Skills & Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of construction and best building practices (experience with multI residential and commercial construction is an asset!)
- Ability to lead, manage, and motivate on-site team members; maintains strong, encouraging leadership qualities
- Excellent organization, documentation, and record-keeping skills
- Excellent understanding of construction drawings and specifications
- Able to delegate on-site tasks to staff and subtrades
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral); ability to provide clear information via Daily Job Logs, emails, etc.
- Advanced problem solving skills, applicable to both construction tasks and management of staff and subtrades on site
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
- Able to learn and use PM program (Buildertrend) to communicate with the team and provide Daily Logs, project photos, etc.
- Knowledge of key principles involved in project management, scheduling, and budgeting preferred.
Requirements / Recommended Assets:
- Minimum ten (10) years work experience in residential construction (commercial experience is an asset)
- Minimum five (5) years experience as a construction Site Supervisor
- Able and willing to drive to multiple job sites throughout Toronto and the surrounding GTA (G-license and personal vehicle)
- Criminal Background Check required prior to start date
- Additional assets:
- Health and Safety training and trade-related certifications
- Experience with Construction Project Management Software (Buildertrend)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
