Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Animal Healthcare Worker to join our team in providing compassionate and professional care for animals in a rescue/recovery setting. The ideal candidate will be a high school graduate, over 18, have a strong interest in animal health, basic math skills, engaging telephone manners and be able to lift 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily animal care routines, including feeding, watering, and monitoring health status
- Maintain detailed records of animal health, treatments, and behaviours
- Assist with the preparation and administration of medications or treatments as directed
- Support cleaning and sanitation protocols to ensure a safe and hygienic environment
- Help with the handling and restraint of animals during procedures or examinations
- Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure the well-being of both animals and staff
- Go on callouts to rescue injured animals
Requirements
- Prior experience working with animals in a healthcare or laboratory setting is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work compassionately with animals and maintain patience during routine care tasks
- Excellent communication skills for accurate record keeping and team collaboration
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols diligently
- A genuine interest in animal health, welfare, and scientific research is essential
Pay: $18.25 per hour
