The Role

What You’ll Be Doing
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading projects from planning through execution, ensuring safety, quality, and operational success. Your key responsibilities include:
- Lead Daily Operations: Plan, organize, and direct daily construction operations.
- Schedule Management: Develop construction schedules and monitor progress using earned value techniques.
- Contract Negotiation: Prepare and negotiate contractual revisions, changes, and additions.
- Subcontractor Coordination: Manage subcontractor scope, contract changes, and project documentation.
- Financial Oversight: Track job costs, profit, and forecasting; work with project administrators on billing and receivables.
- Client Liaison: Build and maintain effective working relationships with clients and internal teams.
- Resource Deployment: Allocate workforce and equipment effectively to support project execution.
- Commitment to Excellence: Champion Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and Quality Assurance standards across all project activities.
Who You Are
You bring the education, experience, and technical knowledge to lead complex industrial projects confidently.
Qualifications / Requirements• P.Eng, Applied Technologist designation, or equivalent trade experience.
- PMP designation considered an asset.
- 7–10 years of applied project management experience.
- Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and construction schedules.
- Heavy industrial experience including process piping (Oil & Gas).
- Familiarity with equipment used in general contracting, multi‑discipline trades, ports, terminals, and bulk material handling (e.g., conveyors).
- Strong background in contract documentation, contract review, and financial oversight.
- Ability to prepare construction schedules, purchase orders, and technical documentation.
- Excellent understanding of heavy industrial structural/mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in MS Project or Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $130 - $150k per annum
The actual salary offered to the successful candidate will be determined based on job‑related factors, including relevant experience, years of experience, qualifications, internal equity, and Carlson Construction Group’s compensation policy.
