Montessori Preschool & Independent School Certified Teacher
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Montessori Preschool Teacher and Independent School Certified Teacher to join our learning community.
This is a dual-role position working with both early childhood (ages 4–5) and primary-level (kindergarten and grade 1) students in a small, supportive Montessori environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering a nurturing, structured, and academically enriching environment that supports the development of the whole child.
Key Responsibilities
Montessori Preschool:
- Guide and support children aged 4–5 in a Montessori early learning environment
- Prepare and maintain a safe, organized, and developmentally appropriate classroom
- Implement Montessori philosophy and hands-on learning experiences
- Observe, document, and support children’s developmental progress
- Maintain strong communication with families
- Ensure compliance with all licensing standards under Fraser Health Authority
Independent School Teaching (Primary Program)
- Teach and support approximately 10–12 primary-level students in a Montessori-based academic program
- Plan and deliver individualized and small-group instruction
- Support academic progress in literacy, numeracy, and cultural studies
- Maintain student records, assessments, and progress reports
- Support a multi-age, self-directed learning environment
General Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
- Support student independence, social development, and emotional regulation
- Communicate professionally with parents and guardians
- Collaborate with staff and participate in school meetings and training
- Follow all school policies and procedures
- Compliance with requirements of the Independent Schools Branch & BC Curriculum
- Maintaining regulatory records and inspection readiness
- Supporting school development and program quality
Qualifications
- Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certification (required for preschool role)
- Montessori training/certification
- Independent School Certification (required for independent school teaching role)
- Experience working in Montessori or multi-age classrooms
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Passion for child-centered education
