Assistant Kitchen Manager
Reports To Kitchen Manager / Food and Beverage Manager
Position Summary -The Assistant Kitchen Manager supports the Kitchen Manager in overseeing all kitchen operations, ensuring food quality, maintaining health and safety standards, and leading kitchen staff. This position helps manage inventory, scheduling, food preparation, and daily operations to provide excellent service to guests.
Key Responsibilities - Assist with the day-to-day operation of the kitchen. Supervise, train, and support kitchen staff.
Ensure all food is prepared and presented according to company standards.Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen.
Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations.
Assist with ordering, receiving, and managing inventory and supplies.
Monitor food costs, portion control, and waste reduction.
Help create staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage during shifts.
Step into leadership roles when the Kitchen Manager is absent.
Assist in developing menus, specials, and seasonal offerings.
Address employee concerns and promote a positive work environment.
Work closely with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service.
Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance management of kitchen employees.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report repairs as needed.
Qualifications - Previous experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant, pub, or commercial kitchen.
Food Safe certification (required).
Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and sanitation standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
