Are you an early-career accounting professional looking for an opportunity to build a strong foundation, work closely with an experienced Controller, and grow within a collaborative real estate development environment?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Financial Accountant to join a growing Edmonton-based real estate development organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1–3 years of accounting experience who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and wants meaningful exposure to financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end activities, and project accounting.
You will work directly with the Controller and collaborate closely with both the accounting and project teams.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare journal entries and month-end adjustments
- Complete bank, credit card, intercompany, and general ledger reconciliations
- Support month-end close activities and monthly financial statement preparation
- Assist with project reporting and financial tracking
- Review Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable transactions for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with GST filings on a monthly and quarterly basis
- Pull invoices and supporting documentation as needed
- Support year-end working papers and audit preparation
- Help maintain accurate, complete, and organized financial records
- Participate in process improvements and system enhancements
- Assist with general accounting and administrative duties as required
What You Bring
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and general accounting principles
- Experience preparing journal entries and completing account reconciliations
- Exposure to month-end close and financial reporting activities
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Suite
- Comfortable learning new accounting systems and technology quickly
- Experience with Yardi, an accounting ERP, or financial reporting systems is an asset
- Knowledge of ASPE is considered an asset
- Candidates pursuing their CPA designation are encouraged to apply
Experience in real estate, property management, construction, development, or professional services is an asset, but not required.

What We Offer
- $55,000–$65,000 annual salary, based on experience
