Line Cook
We are looking for one or two motivated Line Cooks to join our kitchen team at Greystones Restaurant in downtown Orangeville.
Our food is rooted in seasonal ingredients, strong technique, and thoughtful execution. We work closely with local farms and suppliers, change our menus throughout the year, and take pride in doing simple things at a high level.
This is a good opportunity for a cook who wants to work in a professional kitchen, continue developing their skills, and be involved in more than just working the same station every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute menu items with consistency, organization, and attention to detail
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked station before and during service
- Work closely with the Chef and Sous Chef to maintain standards and service flow
- Participate in daily prep and production
- Contribute to seasonal menu changes, specials, and new dishes
- Assist with private dinners, catering, tasting menus, and special events as required
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen; approximately 1–2+ years is preferred
- A solid understanding of foundational cooking techniques and kitchen organization
- Ability to work efficiently and stay organized during busy services
- Attention to seasoning, timing, presentation, and consistency
- Reliability, good communication, and a team-first attitude
- Most importantly, a genuine interest in learning and becoming a stronger cook
Why Join Greystones?
Greystones is entering its sixth year, and our kitchen continues to evolve.
Our cooks work with seasonal local produce, quality proteins and seafood, and a wide range of classical and modern techniques. The kitchen is involved in regular menu development as well as private dinners, wine events, tasting menus, and off-site catering.
We want cooks who are interested in developing with the restaurant. For the right person, there is room to take on more responsibility, learn different sections of the kitchen, contribute ideas, and grow into a more senior role over time.
If you care about cooking, want to keep improving, and are looking for a kitchen where you can be challenged while continuing to develop your craft, we’d like to hear from you.
Please submit your resume along with a brief introduction telling us a little about yourself and what you’re looking for in your next kitchen.
