We are assiting with recruitment for an experienced Pressure Vessel / ASME Section VIII QC Inspector for a company within Sarnia Lambton. This role will oversee quality control activities throughout the fabrication of pressure vessels and ensure compliance with applicable ASME, jurisdictional, customer, and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement job-specific Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Verify, control, and track all pressure boundary materials, including material certifications and traceability.
- Manage and coordinate required NDE activities, including scheduling, documentation, and review of results.
- Maintain accurate inspection records throughout fabrication.
- Prepare, review, and maintain complete Manufacturer’s Data Report / Data Package documentation.
- Liaise directly with customer inspectors, TSSA inspectors, and other third-party authorities.
- Ensure fabrication and inspection activities comply with ASME Section VIII, applicable codes, customer specifications, and company quality procedures.
- Complete and coordinate jurisdictional data report requirements.
- Identify and address quality issues, non-conformances, and documentation deficiencies.
- Support final inspection, pressure testing, and release of completed pressure vessels.
Qualifications
- Proven QC/inspection experience in pressure vessel fabrication.
- Strong working knowledge of ASME Section VIII and applicable ASME inspection requirements.
- Experience with material traceability, NDE, welding documentation, and manufacturer’s data packages.
- Experience working directly with TSSA and customer inspectors.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, ITPs, WPS/PQRs, material certificates, and inspection reports.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively coordinate with fabrication, engineering, NDE, and customer personnel.
- CWB, CSA, API, ASME, or other relevant inspection qualifications would be considered an asset.
Pay: $40.00-$50.00 per hour
