Looking for a farm manager for a network of farms in the Niagara Region, with experience in agriculture. Experience in vineyards and/or tree fruit would be preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee crop production, ensuring optimal plant health and yield.
- Monitor and manage workers, equipment, nutrition programs, IPM programs, irrigation, etc.
- Oversee and/or conduct regular scouting and implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies.
- Work closely with all team members to optimize farm conditions and production schedules.
- Maintain detailed records of crop performance, treatments, and environmental conditions.
- Collaborate with owner to improve growing techniques and efficiencies.
- Oversee and direct health and safety program.
- Oversee maintenance program for equipment and infrastructure.
- Other responsibilities/tasks as assigned
Job Requirements :
- Pesticide License an asset
- Exterminator License an asset
- Minimum of 3 years on farm experience
- Strong professional communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent time management, decision making and interpersonal skills
- Team player
- Must be able to work independently
- Valid G License
- DZ or AZ licenses an asset
- Position requires Monday - Saturday, Holidays as needed.
- Longer work hours are expected and necessary during busy seasonal peaks and harvest times.
- Candidate must be able to stand, kneel, bend and walk for extended periods of time.
- Spanish speaking considered an asset, but not necessary
Pay: Compensation based on experience.
