The Role
We're hiring Landscape Construction Labourers to work alongside our crews on active job sites across Calgary. This is a hands-on, physical role you'll be doing real work from day one. No experience required, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are non-negotiable. In summer you're building landscapes; in winter you're on snow removal. Year-round work, no layoffs.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assist with hardscape installation retaining walls, paver stone patios, walkways, and driveways
- Install sod, topsoil, trees, shrubs, and garden beds
- Grade and prep job sites shovelling, raking, wheelbarrowing materials
- Operate small equipment including tampers, sod cutters, and hand tools
- Move and handle materials on site safely and efficiently
- Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe at all times
- Support irrigation installation and other specialty work as needed
- Assist with snow removal operations during winter months
What We're Looking For
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all Alberta weather conditions
- Reliable you show up on time, every day
- Strong work ethic and a positive attitude on the job site
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day
- Takes direction well and communicates clearly with crew members
- Safety-conscious steel-toed boots, hard hat, and safety vest required on site
- Valid Class 5 driver's license is a strong asset and may increase your hourly rate
- Previous landscaping, construction, or general labour experience is a plus — but not required
Assets (Not Required)
- Any experience with landscape construction hardscape, softscape, grading, or irrigation
- Equipment operation experience (skid steer, mini-excavator, compactors)
- First aid certification
- Experience with snow removal equipment
Compensation & Perks
- $21/hr based on experience we pay based on what you bring to the table with possibilities to increase based on work performance
