Overview
Great Lakes is seeking a dynamic, passionate, and dedicated Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) for Grades 1 to 3. The ideal candidate will foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that supports the academic, emotional, and social development of students. The teacher will be responsible for creating and delivering age-appropriate lessons, assessing student progress, and collaborating with parents and staff to promote a well-rounded educational experience along side an Elementary Montessori Directress.
Responsibilities
- Provide clear and effective communication to students, educators, and staff during instructional activities.
- Support the educational process by assisting in the implementation of lesson plans and tutoring sessions.
- Facilitate learning by engaging with students in various subjects, including Math and special education topics.
- Assist in creating an inclusive environment for students with disabilities, ensuring their needs are met.
- Collaborate with educators to develop strategies that enhance student learning outcomes.
- Maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere that fosters student engagement and participation.
- Document student progress and provide feedback to educators regarding individual student needs.
Requirements
- Bilingual proficiency in English and another language is preferred to enhance communication with diverse student populations.
- Experience or education in early childhood education or special education is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively educate and support students.
- Familiarity with tutoring techniques and educational methodologies to assist students in their learning journey.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a daycare environment while supporting educational initiatives.
- A passion for education and a commitment to fostering a positive learning experience for all students.
