Job Overview:
The Customer Service Associate is a key member of the Peace by Piece Nutrition team, responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences, ensuring the storefront operates smoothly, and maintaining the brand's welcoming and professional atmosphere. This part-time position is ideal for an individual who loves food, enjoys engaging with people, and thrives in a dynamic, small business environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly and provide personalized assistance to meet their needs.
- Engage with customers to create a welcoming, small-town feel while representing the brand professionally.
- Offer product recommendations and assist with purchases, fostering a positive shopping experience.
- Proactively identify customer needs and provide solutions to enhance satisfaction.
Store Operations:
- Restock inventory and ensure product displays are neat and visually appealing.
- Perform daily inventory checks and update stock records in spreadsheets and on our website.
- Manage basic closing procedures, including cleaning and organizing the store for the next day.
Janitorial Duties:
- Maintain cleanliness of the store, including wiping down surfaces and restocking supplies.
- Handle light cleaning tasks such as emptying trash, cleaning equipment, and ensuring restrooms are tidy.
Point of Sale (POS) Management:
- Process sales transactions accurately using the Square POS system.
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues with the POS system if necessary.
- Must be able to process cash payments.
Optional Tasks:
- Contribute to social media content creation and customer email updates, if skilled and interested.
- Assist with promotional activities and in-store events as required.
Qualifications:
Personality and Skills:
- Outgoing, upbeat, and customer-focused with strong interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to work independently.
- Basic technical proficiency for POS operation and inventory/website management.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 20-30 lbs occasionally to assist customers with products.
- Comfort with standing for extended periods during shifts.
Experience:
- Previous customer service or retail experience is a bonus but not required.
- Passion for food and interest in healthy eating are highly desirable.
Work Schedule:
- Part-time position, with shifts primarily in the afternoons, evenings, Saturdays and Sundays.
- Typical shifts from 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM on weekdays. Must be available for weekends. Saturdays from 10am to 6:30pm. Sundays from 10am-4:30pm.
Compensation:
- Starting at $16/hour, with potential for increases following a successful 90-day probationary review.
