Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Machine Operator/General Labour to join our manufacturing team. This role involves operating various machinery, including CNC machines, press brakes, and welding equipment, to produce high-quality components. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, proficiency in blueprint reading, and experience with manufacturing and machining processes. Duties
- Operate CNC machines such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and CNC programming tools to produce precision parts according to specifications.
- Set up and calibrate machinery including Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and press brake machines.
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Perform welding tasks using various techniques to assemble components securely.
- Utilize hand tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments for quality control and precise machining.
- Assist with packaging finished products ensuring proper handling and storage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
- Support warehouse activities including loading, unloading, and inventory management.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks using CAD software such as SolidWorks.
- Conduct routine inspections of machinery to ensure optimal operation and troubleshoot issues as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating CNC equipment such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or press brakes is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Fanuc controls, PLCs, and CNC programming is essential.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks), and mechanical assembly techniques.
- Proficiency in welding processes and the use of hand tools for machining tasks.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations integral to manufacturing processes.
- Warehouse experience including forklift operation is a plus.
- Strong understanding of quality control standards within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with an eagerness to learn new skills related to machining and assembly.
