A Brief Overview
Reporting to the Director, Student Information System Operations, the Business Analyst (BA) will research, analyze, sustain, measure, modify, and enhance business processes to support the ongoing information systems and business integration requirements for the Office of University Registrar. Through active relationship building and collaboration with unit end-users, IT Business/Systems Analysts, unit management and other stakeholders, the BA ensures quality delivery and implementation of applications and process change, ensuring compliance/accountability in the management of our student information data.
The BA will also develop/deliver appropriate communication, training/presentations, and business/system end user documentation to support unit staff and stakeholder needs.
This position provides expertise to aid in the planning, design and development of technical resources. This position translates business requirements into an implementation plan with clients and members of the team. This position makes recommendations for solutions or improvements to business processes that can be accomplished through technology.
What you will do
- Analyzes, edits, documents, and translates business and functional requirements.
- Conducts research and addresses information systems changes and business process improvements to meet current and future business requirements.
- Completes detailed system specifications for workflow, scripts, reports, interfaces, conversions, modifications, customizations or extensions.
- Recommends system and business process improvements on complex information system and business process issues.
- Performs detailed analysis of root problems for urgent production issues and data quality issues.
- Develops and maintains training deliverables for staff.
- Creates multi-level test scenarios.
- Develops queries and reports.
- Configures and maintains systems as well as integrations with various third party systems.
- Administers user access to key systems.
- Designs processes for data input.
- Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.
Required Education
- Four-Year Bachelor Degree or equivalent. In addition, requires trade certification, qualification, or on-going learning to remain ahead of changes in technology or emerging fields.
Required Experience
- More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years of experience.
Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
