As a Senior Project Superintendent, you will lead all field operations for assigned construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. This leadership role is responsible for coordinating site activities, mentoring project teams, managing subcontractors, and maintaining strong client relationships throughout the construction lifecycle.

As a Senior Project Superintendent, you will:
- Lead all field construction activities from project mobilization through closeout.
- Develop and execute project construction plans and schedules.
- Coordinate project mobilization, including site logistics, equipment selection, and site setup.
- Monitor project productivity, labour performance, schedules, cost control, forecasting, and quantity reporting.
- Ensure projects are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, budgets, and contractual requirements.
- Identify project risks and implement corrective actions as required.
- Coordinate and supervise all subcontractor activities.
- Conduct and chair regular site coordination meetings.
- Assist Project Managers with subcontractor buyouts and monitor monthly progress claims.
- Plan workforce requirements and oversee manpower allocation.
- Manage union labour requirements, including workforce planning, layoffs, and compliance with collective agreements.
- Mentor, coach, supervise, and develop Superintendents and other field personnel.
- Act as an ambassador for Matheson Constructors both internally and externally.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, architects, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Attend client meetings and provide regular project updates.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen long-term client relationships and support future business opportunities.
- Champion Matheson's Health & Safety Program and promote a strong safety culture on every project.
- Ensure compliance with all company safety policies, OHSA regulations, and project-specific safety requirements.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation and site records.
- Ensure quality standards are maintained throughout construction and oversee project deficiencies through completion.
- Complete and review daily site diaries.
- Prepare timesheets, purchase orders, labour quantities, invoices, packing slips, reports, and project correspondence.
- Record and maintain accurate As-Built documentation.
- Assist with project reporting and documentation as required.
- Lead final inspections and deficiency management.
- Coordinate warranty work and project turnover.
- Manage site demobilization activities.
- Ensure all project documentation is completed accurately for closeout.
We're looking for someone who has:
- A diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Minimum 10 years of supervisory experience within the ICI construction industry.
- Extensive experience managing large commercial, institutional, industrial, or mixed-use construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, quality control, and cost management.
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors and field teams simultaneously.
- Solid understanding of contract documents, drawings, specifications, and project administration.
- Experience working within unionized environments and interpreting collective agreements.
- Knowledge of Ontario Building Code, Occupational Health & Safety legislation, and construction regulations.
- Experience with project management software such as Viewpoint is considered an asset.
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence.
- First Aid certification is considered an asset.

This position requires:
- Regular travel to project sites throughout Ontario.
- Working in both indoor and outdoor construction environments.
- Wearing required PPE, including CSA-approved safety boots, hard hat, safety glasses, and additional site-specific equipment.
- Extended hours and overtime as required to support project schedules.
- Physical activities including walking active construction sites, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs., and carrying project drawings or equipment.
- Exposure to varying weather conditions and active construction site environments.
