Goldie's Donuts & Bakery is looking for warm, dependable team members to join our growing café team. We're a premium artisan donut and coffee brand known for handcrafted quality, a welcoming atmosphere, and a golden retriever named Goldie who inspired it all.
The ideal candidate genuinely enjoys people, takes pride in presentation and detail, and thrives in a fast-paced café environment. You'll be crafting espresso beverages, serving our handmade donuts, running the register, and helping keep the store spotless. Whether you're an experienced barista or new to the industry and eager to learn, we'll train you — what matters most is a positive attitude and a commitment to doing things well.
Responsibilities
- Welcome every guest warmly and deliver a friendly, memorable customer experience
- Prepare and serve espresso-based beverages, brewed coffee, and other drinks to Goldie's quality standards
- Present and serve our artisan donuts and bakery items with care and attention to detail
- Operate the POS system accurately, handling cash and card transactions with responsibility
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace — including counters, seating areas, and equipment — in line with food safety standards
- Follow proper food handling and safety protocols at all times
- Assist with stocking, product rotation, and daily inventory counts
- Support opening and closing duties, including setup and end-of-day cleaning
- Work efficiently during peak hours while maintaining quality and a positive attitude
- Communicate clearly with teammates to keep service smooth and consistent
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a barista or in café, bakery, or food service is an asset — but not required; we're happy to train the right person
- FOODSAFE Level 1 certification (or willingness to obtain before starting)
- Strong customer service skills and a genuinely friendly, approachable manner
- Comfortable handling cash and card transactions accurately
- Ability to stay calm, organized, and positive during busy periods
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Availability to work weekends, mornings, and holidays as needed
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Must be 18 years or older
