Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is a 321-bed academic and teaching hospital that provides specialized mental health, addiction and geriatric care. Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, we serve some of the most complex and disadvantaged individuals in Ontario and are the sole provider of high-secure forensic mental health services in the province.
The Director, Organizational Development is currently seeking a temporary full-time Organizational Development & Talent Consultant. This position drives initiatives that strengthen organizational effectiveness, employee experience, talent management and culture across the hospital.
Please Note: This position offers a hybrid work environment consisting of in-office and remote work. Office location is 500 Church St in Penetanguishene, ON
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Act as an advisor and coach to directors and managers on talent management and organizational development interventions to support achievement of both departmental & corporate level goals and strategies.
- As a subject matter expert, supports the implementation of Waypoint’s leadership capabilities framework (LEADS); responsible for the creation and administration of leadership development programs and Initiatives.
- Utilize advanced facilitation techniques to guide groups through complex discussions, conflict resolution, and collaborative decision-making processes.
- Leverage strategic partnerships with vendors and professional organizations to support OD goals and remain current on industry best practices.
- Support organizational succession planning by facilitating front-line level talent reviews, identifying high potential employees, and contributing to development strategies that build future leadership capability.
- Support the performance management process by coaching managers on best practices in goal setting, ongoing feedback, performance documentation, and career development.
- Provide full-cycle recruitment support aligned with the organization’s talent acquisition strategy
- Track and analyze Talent and OD metrics through dashboards and reports to monitor progress and support data-driven decisions.
- Prepare and present recruitment and retention metrics and initiatives at labour management meetings; support HRBPs in addressing recruitment-related grievances.
- Partner with Finance and Data Analytics to align on business needs and data for effective vacancy management and workforce planning.
- Partner with Divisional Consultants and HRBPs to analyze HR data, identify performance gaps, and recommend learning and development interventions.
- Support the planning and execution of employee engagement and recognition initiatives.
- Collaborate with partners to assess, develop, implement and evaluate Equity, Diversity and Inclusion strategies and initiatives to support diverse teams and a culture of belonging.
- Provide ongoing guidance and mentoring to coordinators and specialists within the division, focusing on best practices and strategic initiatives in Organizational Development (OD) and Talent Management (TM), to build capability, enhance performance, and align efforts with overall business goals.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as human resources, business healthcare/public administration, communication or social sciences
- Specialized training/education in the human resources management function, or specialized area of organizational development/effectiveness, leadership development, and training and development
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience with demonstrated leadership experience in Human Resources
- Demonstrated knowledge in Talent management best practices in attracting, developing and retaining talent; understanding of current labour market conditions and trends
- Advanced knowledge of relevant human resources legislation i.e. ESA, AODA. OHSA, LRAO,OHRC
- QI and Outcomes focused: Standard HR key performance indicators (KPIs) and LEAN, CQI, or Six Sigma process improvement frameworks
- Understanding of leadership models and competency frameworks in healthcare
- A strong knowledge and demonstrated understanding of inclusion, diversity and equity concepts
- Knowledge of adult learning theories and group facilitation experience to develop effective, creative, learning activities for diverse audiences.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and facilitation skills
- Ability to build strong relationships, influence and communicate effectively
- Project management and planning skills to support a range of organizational initiative
- Models and promotes core ethical practice, Waypoint Values (Caring, Respect, Accountability, Innovation)
- Preference for proficiency in French/English language skills.
