Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Carpentry Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves assisting with various carpentry and construction projects, supporting skilled tradespeople, and ensuring the successful completion of building tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, basic knowledge of construction processes, and the ability to operate hand and power tools safely. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry while contributing to diverse projects such as restoration, framing, cabinetry, and more.
Duties
- Assist with blueprint reading and interpret schematics for project execution
- Support concrete forming, rebar installation, and masonry work as needed
- Participate in cabinetry installation, flooring, tile laying, and siding projects
- Operate hand tools, power tools, CNC equipment, and other construction machinery safely
- Perform general construction tasks including heavy lifting, caulking, roofing, and electrical or plumbing support
- Aid in wood framing, woodworking, and assembly tasks for various structures
- Support restoration projects by preparing surfaces and assisting with finishing work
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment at all times
- Assist with construction estimating tasks and material handling as required
Requirements
- Prior construction experience or background in carpentry is preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately
- Knowledge of concrete forming, masonry, roofing, siding, and tile laying is a plus
- Skilled in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Experience with cabinetry installation, flooring installation, rebar installation, or woodworking is desirable
- Familiarity with electrical or plumbing systems is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in physically demanding environments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Reliable transportation to job sites; valid driver’s license is a plus
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to various construction tasks
