- A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the confidence to identify opportunities for cost optimization, value engineering, and continuous improvement throughout the estimating process.
What You'll Do
- Prepare accurate material, labour, equipment, subcontractor, and indirect cost estimates aligned with project objectives.
- Review drawings, specifications, P&IDs, instrumentation, bid packages, and technical documents to define scope, requirements, and execution strategy.
- Collaborate with engineering, procurement, operations, and project management to define assumptions, execution plans, and pricing strategies.
- Identify scope gaps, commercial risks, schedule constraints, and value-engineering opportunities, and develop mitigation strategies as needed.
- Track market trends, labour conditions, material pricing, and industry developments to keep estimates competitive and current.
- Prepare bid summaries, proposal documents, and client submissions outlining costs, assumptions, exclusions, and deliverables.
- Support project handover with estimating expertise, scope clarification, and cost insights for execution teams.
- Improve estimating processes, tools, and best practices to support operational excellence and profitable project execution.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for a candidate who combines strong technical expertise with a commitment to quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- 7+ years of estimating experience in instrumentation, with a strong background in industrial, oil & gas, or heavy industrial construction.
- Journeyperson instrumentation ticket or relevant technical background is considered an asset.
