Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our dynamic and collaborative team. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive assessments and provide individualized, evidence-based therapy for speech, language, communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders across pediatric and adult populations.

The successful candidate will also provide appropriate supervision and support to Communication Disorders Assistants (CDAs), in accordance with applicable Alberta regulatory and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech, language, voice, fluency, communication, and swallowing disorders in pediatric and adult clients.
- Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans based on each client’s needs, goals, and functional priorities.
- Deliver engaging and effective therapy targeting articulation, phonology, receptive and expressive language, social communication, fluency, voice, oral-motor skills, and swallowing, as appropriate.
- Maintain complete, accurate, timely, and confidential client records in accordance with ACSLPA standards, applicable legislation, and professional documentation requirements.
- Provide appropriate and timely supervision, direction, and support to Communication Disorders Assistants (CDAs), in accordance with applicable Alberta requirements and professional standards.
- Collaborate with clients, families, caregivers, educators, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and client-centered care.
- Monitor client progress, evaluate treatment outcomes, and modify intervention plans as clinically indicated.
- Provide education and practical strategies to caregivers, families, and educators to support communication and skill development outside of therapy sessions.
- Participate in multidisciplinary collaboration and contribute to early intervention and prevention strategies.
- Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practices, clinical research, assessment tools, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and developments relevant to speech-language pathology.
- Practice in accordance with ethical, professional, and regulatory standards established by ACSLPA.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).
- Current Alberta practice permit authorizing practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Professional liability insurance meeting ACSLPA requirements. ACSLPA currently requires regulated SLPs on the General Register to maintain a minimum of $2 million in professional liability insurance, subject to applicable exceptions.
- Strong clinical, organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Experience with standardized speech, language, communication, and/or swallowing assessment tools.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Ability to provide appropriate supervision and support to Communication Disorders Assistants (CDAs).
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with families, educators, and multidisciplinary professionals.
- Commitment to ethical, compassionate, culturally responsive, and high-quality patient-centered care.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively to a collaborative clinical team.
- Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle, as the position may involve travel between client or service locations.
