We’re looking for an Economic Development Officer to lead initiatives that position our community as a destination of choice for business, investment, and tourism.
The Economic Development Officer is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategy promoting North Perth as a preferred destination for new and existing commercial ventures and other community development opportunities. The role builds strong relationships with various stakeholders, partners, and other orders of government to identify opportunities, enable investment, drive business growth, and strengthen the municipality’s tourism sector. The position will be involved in activities such as economic planning, marketing, tourism, project management, research, and economic stakeholder engagement.
The successful candidate should possess:

College Certificate or University degree in Economic Development, Business, Public Administration, Planning, or Marketing.

3 years’ experience within a municipality in an economic development role.

Demonstrated experience developing and delivering strategies, multi-partner initiatives and programs with measurable outcomes.

Strong knowledge of economic/community development and tourism/destination principles, practices and stakeholder environments.

Excellent interpersonal skills to build and maintain cooperative working relationships and strategic alliances with community stakeholders, businesses, government and agencies.

Certified Economic Developer (Ec.D) is desirable.
Salary is based upon a 35 hour work week and will align with experience and qualifications.
