Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Picker Truck Driver/Operator to join our team. This role involves handling, loading, and transportation of used tires, scrap metal, & logs from various locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and driving experience. Previous picker experience is an asset but training is available for the right candidate.
Duties
- Operate picker trucks safely and efficiently
- Load, unload, and transport materials between locations
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Assist with setup and securement of loads using appropriate rigging techniques
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding operational status and safety concerns
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment
- Support other construction or industrial activities as needed, including basic mechanical troubleshooting
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage and materials handled
- Mechanical experience is an asset
Experience
- Valid Class 1 Driver's License
- Proven experience operating a picker
- Mechanical knowledge related to industrial equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and clients
- Prior customer service experience is advantageous for interacting professionally with customers
Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
