Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance, the Financial Analyst supports the accounting activities, month-end close, reconciliations, variance analysis, and accurate financial reporting. The role also contributes to compliance and regulatory requirements as needed.

This position will be based at our Head Office in Markham, Ontario. Extendicare offers a hybrid working environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Manage general ledger accounts and prepare monthly/annual financial reports.
Own the month-end close process for balance sheet and P&L accounts.
Prepare, maintain, and reconcile complex accounts.
Prepare and present budget-to-actual and variance analysis to support business decisions.
Drive finance process improvements through problem-solving and fresh perspective.
Collaborate with business stakeholders and other finance team members.
Prepare documentation to support compliance and regulatory reporting.
Support preparation of budgets and forecasts.
Manage auditor requests and submissions to external parties.
Complete other duties as assigned.
What we’re looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
1–2 years of accounting/finance experience.
Working towards CPA designation (preferred).
Advance Excel skills.
Experience in identifying, investigating, analyzing, and reporting variances.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
