Job Description
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Subcontractor Cabinet Maker. The ideal candidate will have expertise in building, customizing, and installing cabinets for kitchens, bathrooms, and other interior spaces. Precision, craftsmanship, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
Compensation: $50,000 - $100,000 annually based on piecework

Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, designers, and other trades to ensure seamless integration with broader renovation work
- Engage with clients as needed to confirm custom details and measurements
Responsibilities:
- Construct custom cabinetry and millwork from scratch or pre-cut materials
- Read and interpret detailed drawings, blueprints, and design specifications
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install cabinets with precision and care
- Work with a variety of materials including MDF, plywood, solid wood, melamine, and veneers
- Operate saws, routers, planers, sanders, and other woodworking tools
- Ensure all pieces fit, align, and function properly (doors, drawers, hardware, etc.)
- Apply finishes or coordinate with other trades for painting/staining
- Maintain clean, organized workspaces both in the shop and on-site
- Transport cabinets safely to installation locations
- Provide quality control and touch-ups as needed
- Follow safety procedures and wear proper protective gear
- Communicate project updates to the project manager
Qualifications:
- Must speak English to communicate clearly with team members and clients
- Must have own vehicle, tools, and woodworking equipment
- Minimum 5 years of custom cabinetry or millwork experience, with references
- Must carry valid Liability Insurance and WSIB coverage
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Proven ability to work from technical drawings and client specifications
- Strong attention to detail, fit, and finish
- Skilled in joinery, cabinetry hardware, and wood finishing
- Able to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods
- Comfortable using a smartphone and basic apps for project coordination
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Driver’s license required
- Clean, professional appearance and strong customer service skills
