Daytime Barista / Wine Bar Associate
Part-time starting mid-August, moving to full-time mid-September
$18/hour + tips
Veritas is evolving from an established bottle shop into a neighbourhood café, wine bar, and bottle shop focused on quality coffee, unique wines, and simple, warm hospitality.
We’re looking for a Daytime Barista / Wine Bar Associate to join us as we build the next chapter of Veritas; someone with an interest in great coffee and wine, and a desire to help shape these programmes.
The role includes:
-Making excellent espresso drinks using our house blend
-Serving wine and basic cocktails
-Recommending wine for bottle shop customers
-Opening duties and general café/bar operations
We’re looking for someone who is:
-Sociable, detail-oriented, and independent
-Passionate about quality drinks and hospitality
-Interested in learning more about coffee and wine
Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain ASAP:
-Smart Serve certification
-Food Handler CertificatePrevious barista experience is a strong asset, as is wine knowledge.
We’re happy to invest in the right person and can offer a fully funded Brock University Wine Retail Certificate online.
Schedule
August–early September: Saturday & Sunday, 8-4
Mid-September onwards: Monday–Friday, 8-4
