Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Counter Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service, ensuring smooth food service operations, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food industry settings, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks with professionalism. Previous restaurant experience, familiarity with POS systems, and a focus on food safety are highly valued.
Duties
- Take customer orders accurately using Micros POS or similar point-of-sale systems
- Prepare and assemble food items according to established standards and safety guidelines
- Handle cash transactions with precision, including cash handling and basic math calculations
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including kitchen and serving stations
- Ensure food safety standards are consistently met through proper food handling and sanitation practices
- Assist in serving customers efficiently during peak hours
- Manage time effectively to ensure timely order processing and customer satisfaction
- Support team members in various tasks as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation, handling, and safety protocols
- Familiarity with POS systems
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
- Ability to perform cashiering duties accurately and efficiently
- Good time management skills to handle busy periods effectively
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Understanding of sanitation standards within the food industry
- Kitchen or food industry experience is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
