Norwest Precision Ltd. is seeking a qualified Quality Inspector to join our team at our facility in North York, Ontario.
Established in 1965, Norwest Precision Ltd. is a Canadian owned and operated company specializing in the machining, fabrication, and mechanical assembly of complex components for a broad spectrum of industries including Power Generation, Mining, Steel Mills, Nuclear Power, Oil & Gas, Defense & Military and more.
Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified Quality Inspector to join our growing team. This dual-role position involves overseeing quality assurance and control operations while also supporting various administrative and cross-functional activities. The successful candidate will report directly to the Vice President, General Manager, and QA Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Quality Control
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement aligned with company goals.
- Plan, manage, and execute QA/QC activities to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations.
- Mentor, train, and support the development of QC team members.
- Create and maintain dimensional inspection reports for in-process and final inspections.
- Assist in the implementation and training of Unipoint quality management software.
- Generate and manage internal/external non-conformance reports; liaise with customers and vendors as needed.
- Organize Final QA documentation and packages, including subcontractor inspection reports, MTRs, Certificates of Conformance, and ITPs.
- Conduct inspections and oversee acceptance of machined components and assemblies.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with the QA Manager and leadership team.
- Support the development and maintenance of training matrices for staff, with an emphasis on safety.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of supplier scorecards and performance metrics.
- All other duties as assigned.
General Administration & Cross-Functional Support
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented workplace culture.
- Collaborate with departments including HR, Estimating, Scheduling, Finance, and Logistics.
- Provide administrative support as required to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Aid in facilitating AR/AP necessary
- Aid in completing logistics and transportation paperwork when necessary
Qualifications & Requirements
- Prior experience in a QA/QC role within a machining or manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO standards, quality systems, and audit preparation.
- Proficiency in QA/QC reporting tools and software (Unipoint experience is an asset).
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Adaptable and collaborative, with a willingness to assist across departments.

Pay: $25.00-$31.00 per hour
