POSITION SUMMARY
The Construction Proposal Writer is responsible for managing the preparation and submission of proposals, qualifications, and tender documents while supporting pre-construction and business development activities. This role works closely with estimating, operations, and the leadership team to pursue new opportunities, coordinate bid submissions, and maintain client and project information that supports company growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Proposal & Tender Management
- Lead the preparation, coordination, writing, and submission of RFQs, RFPs, tenders, and qualification packages.
- Review submission documents and ensure submission requirements are met.
- Gather and organize information from estimating, operations, and project teams.
- Maintain proposal templates, project profiles, resumes, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate internal review and approval processes.
- Ensure all submissions are accurate, compliant, and delivered on time.
Pre-Construction Support
- Support estimating and pre-construction team during bid preparation.
- Compile bid packages, subcontractor information, and supporting documentation.
- Assist in developing project execution plans, schedules, and methodologies for submissions.
- Maintain project statistics, safety records, and experience data used in proposals.
- Track bid opportunities, deadlines, and submission requirements.
Business Development Support
- Research and identify upcoming project opportunities and procurement notices.
- Monitor bidding platforms and industry opportunities.
- Maintain client, consultant, and subcontractor databases.
- Assist with client meetings, presentations, and relationship management activities.
- Support strategic growth initiatives and opportunity tracking.
- Prepare capability statements and company qualification packages for prospective clients.
- Participate in industry associations, committees, networking events, and community engagement opportunities to build relationships, enhance company visibility, and identify potential business opportunities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of construction proposal writing, construction administration, estimating support, or business development experience.
- Experience in construction, civil, industrial, or commercial contracting preferred.
- Strong technical writing and document management skills.
- Excellent organizational and project coordination abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, and bid management platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with macOS is an asset.
Pay: $85,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
