The Position:
We are looking for an experienced residential carpenter. Carpenter duties include all on-site renovation carpentry for all types of home renovation projects including; site and safety control, demolition, framing and finishing carpentry.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project managers and project coordinators in the scheduling and coordination of work on site.
- Review drawings and assist subcontractors in interpreting technical designs and specifications.
- Ensure that work is performed in accordance with all applicable health and safety regulations.
- Handle emergencies appropriately according to established procedures.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3-5 years related residential construction-based design experience.
- Must be proficient at all types of residential renovation projects including additions, whole house renovations, kitchens, bathrooms and basements.
- Must possess superior carpentry skills which are required for all types of home renovation projects.
- A working knowledge of all trades associated with residential construction.
- A demonstrated ability to understand simple plumbing, heating and electrical work.
- An understanding of the Ontario Building Code as it applies to residential construction, particularly OBC Part 9.
- A demonstrated ability to read, understand and communicate through residential construction design drawing.
- A proven ability to manage people, trades and customer relationships.
- Must have strong communication skills.
- Must have own transportation
Hourly rate is determined by experience.
