Unique Slow Rise Bakery is in search for a Cook Supervisor that specializes in Dim Sum and Asian culinary. We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Leader to join our team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have proven experience with steaming practices, Asian culinary, and dim sum cooking. assist in meal preparation, ensuring that all food is handled safely and meets our high standards of quality. This role is essential in supporting our culinary team and delivering exceptional dining experiences to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of meals by chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as directed by the head cook.
- Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food. Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures
- Have knowledge of the establishment's culinary genres
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure all food items are stored and handled correctly.
- Help with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the kitchen manager.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely meal service and adherence to quality standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operation of the kitchen.
Requirements
- Preference will go to experienced cooks that have a strong knowledge of dim sum and/or steaming practices.
- Previous leadership experience (minimum 3 years) in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and handling procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high pressure, fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation and cooking techniques.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights as necessary.
Availability:
- Full-Time: Must be available for at least 4-5 days from Thursday to Monday.
- Shifts can range between 9am to 7:00pm
