Yellowknife Education District No. 1 and the Dettah District Education Authority invites applications for the position of:
Janitor
Kaw Tay Whee School in Dettah
Continuing position
Part-time (50% FTE)
4 Hour Shift - 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM
Minimum requirements for the position include a high school diploma.
Preference will be given to candidates who have:
Previous janitorial/cleaning experience, related experience deemed acceptable by the Janitor Supervisor may also be considered
Willingness to work in a multicultural environment around teachers, students, and the public
Experience working in a school/commercial setting
Proper sanitization techniques
WHMIS training
Basic computer skills
Knowledge of proper floor care of resilient flooring and carpet, including stripping, waxing, buffing and steam cleaning
Must have the physical ability to perform some laborious duties such as snow shovelling and heavy lifting
